The beautiful oak floored live room at The Silk Mill Recording Studio measures approximately 40 m2 and along with the adjoining 15 m2 iso-booth comfortably accommodates up to 11 piece bands.

The space has been acoustically designed by Stephen ‘Fritz’ Pickford of eHz Ltd and features a live end / dead end design. The room sounds amazing for recording drums!

There are excellent lines-of-sight between the control room, live room and iso-booth, allowing for easy communication and an enjoyable recording experience. The Aviom headphone cue mix system provides up to 8 independent headphone mixes to artists.

Mic ties are available to feed both the Neve tracking studio and the SSL mixing room, including re-amp cabling between both control rooms. We have installed an elaborate SmartDI system which allows guitarists to play anywhere, whilst placing their amps anywhere, without any loss of tone. This allows players to perform where they’re most comfortable (for example in the control room) whilst their amps are located where they sound best, or where the best level of isolation can be achieved.

The main live room features air conditioning, and both the live room and iso-booth feature multiple customisable lighting options allowing you to adapt the lighting to suit the mood of your session.
